To a stirred solution of 3-(1-methyl-2-oxo-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroquinolin-6-yl)-2-oxo-5-oxazolidinecarboxylic acid methyl ester (EXAMPLE 67, Step 4, 150 mg, 0.49 mmol) in MeOH (2 mL) is added MeNH2 (2 mL, 4.0 mmol, 2.0 M solution in MeOH). The reaction mixture is then stirred for 30 minutes at room temperature. Solvent is removed and the residue is washed with ether to give the title compound as a white solid (120 mg, 80%), 1H NMR (300 MHz, DMSO) a 8.37 (d, 1H), 7.44–7.07 (m, 3H), 5.04 (dd, 1H), 4.25 (t, 1H), 3.99 (dd, 1H), 3.23 (s, 3H), 2.86 (t, 2H), 2.65 (d, 3H), 2.50 (m, 2H); MS for C15H17N3O4 m/z 304.5 (M+H)+.
