Reaction Steps
This compound is prepared in a manner analogous to that of Step D of Example 2, using 5.4 grams (0.01 8 mole) of 8-(2,3-dihydro-2,2-dimethylbenzofuran-7-ylmethyl)-1,4-dioxaspiro[4.5]decane and 25 mL of water in 100 mL of acetic acid, yielding 4-(2,3-dihydro-2,2-dimethylbenzofuran-7-ylmethyl)cyclohexanone.
