Reaction Steps
A solution of 4-(3-(3-(2-quinolinylmethyloxy)phenyl)-1-oxo-2-propen-l-yl)benzonitrile (0.008 mol) in ethyl acetate (150 ml) is shaken under 50 psi of hydrogen gas in the presence of 10% palladium an carbon catalyst (1.0 g). The reaction is filtered through a celite pad and evaporated to give 4-(3-(3(2-quinolinylmethyloxy)phenyl)propyl)benzonitrile.
