Ethyl 5-aminoindole-2-carboxylate. Analogous to the procedure used to prepare Example 3, step (a), ethyl 5-nitroindole-2-carboxylate (2.3 g, 9.9 mmol, Acros) provided the title product. MS (ESI, pos. ion) m/z: 205 (M+1).
