A mixture of 4-bromo6-trifluoromethyl-2-[4-(3-trifluoromethylpyridin-2-yl)piperazin-1-yl]-1H-benzoimidazole (99 mg, 0.2 mmol, Example 7), diethyl(3-pyridyl)borane (37 mg, 0.25 mmol, Aldrich), Pd(PPh3)4 (23 mg, 0.02 mmol, Aldrich), Na2CO3 (32 mg, 0.3 mmol) and dimethoxyethane (1 mL) was subjected to microwave irradiation at 200° C. with stirring for 40 min. The solvent was removed in vacuo and the residue was purified by silica gel chromatography, eluting with 60% EtOAc/hexane, to give the title compound as a yellow amorphous solid. MS (ESI, pos. ion) m/z: 493 (M+1).
