A solution of 4-(3-trifluoromethyl-pyridin-2-yl)-1-[5-trifluoromethyl-1-(2-trimethylsilanyl-ethoxymethyl)-1H-benzoimidazol-2-yl]-piperazin-2-one from step (c) above (114 mg, 0.2 mmol) in 30% TFA in dichloromethane (3 mL) was stirred at room temperature for 5 h. The solvent was removed in vacuo and the residue was purified by silica gel column chromatography, eluting with EtOAc/hexane (1:3) to give the title compound as a yellow solid. MS (ESI, positive ion) m/z: 430 (M+1).
