Procedure

(6-{(3R)-3-Methyl-4-[6-trifluoromethyl-4-(3,4,5-trifluoro-phenyl)-1H-benzoimidazol-2-yl]-piperazin-1-yl}-5-trifluoromethyl-pyridin-3-yl)-methanol (1.18 g, 2.0 mmol, Example 183h) reacted with MnO2 (3.48, 40 mmol, Aldrich) under the conditions of Example 154a to give the title compound as a white solid, which was used in the next step without additional purification. MS (ESI, pos. ion) m/e: 588 (M+1).
