Reaction Steps
5-[1-Ethyl-1-(4-hydroxy-3-methyl-phenyl)-propyl]-benzo[b]thiophene-2-carboxylic acid ethyl ester (5.97 g, 15.6 mmol), 1-bromopinacolone (4.20 g, 23.4 mmol), and K2CO3 (6.46 g, 46.8 mmol) in acetone (100 mL) are reacted analogous to Example 1D to provide the title compound (7.10 g, 95%).
