To a suspension of the product of step 1 (42 g, 160 mmol) in a mixture of CH2Cl2 (200 mL), t-BuOH (500 mL) was added a suspension of oxone (144 g, 234 mmol) in 1 L of H2O. The mixture was stirred for 72 h. CH2Cl2 was added until all solid dissolved. The resulting mixture was extracted with EtOAc. The organic extracts were dried (Na2SO4) and concentrated to give 47 g of the title compound.
