Reaction Steps

To a solution of 503 mg (1.35 mmol) of α-(2-aminophenyl)-N-(1-benzylpiperidin-4-yl)benzylamine in 10 mL of tetrahydrofuran was added 300 mg (1.68 mmol) of 1,1'-thiocarbonyldiimidazole, and the mixture was heated under reflux for 3 hours. After being cooled, the reaction mixture was concentrated in vacuo, and the residue was purified by means of column chromatography (silica gel, 1:4 ethyl acetate:chloroform) to give 540 mg (1.30 mmol) of the title compound.
