Procedure
The acid chloride is prepared from (E)-3-(6,7-dimethyl-4-oxo-4H-quinazolin-3-yl]-2-propenoic acid and thionyl chloride as previously described. When this acid chloride is allowed to react with 3-pyridine butanamine under the usual conditions, (E)-3-(6,7-dimethyl-4-oxo-4H-quinazolin-3-yl)-N-[4-(3-pyridinyl)butyl]-2-propenamide is obtained.
