The TFA salt of (2-{3-[1-(6-methoxy-pyridin-2-yl)-vinyl]-benzo[b]thiophen-2-yl}-ethyl)-dimethyl-amine (190 mg, mmol) was dissolved in MeOH (12 mL) and a catalytic amount of 10% Pd/C was added. The reaction was stirred under 1 Atm of H2 for 2.5 hours, filtered over celite, washed with dichloromethane, concentrated in vacuo and purified by mass triggered preparative HPLC to give (2-{3-[1-(6-methoxy-pyridin-2-yl)-ethyl]-benzo[b]thiophen-2-yl}-ethyl)-dimethyl-amine (Compound 15-2). MH+=341.0, tR=5.2 min.
