Sodium borohydride (24 mg, 0.63 mmol) was added to solution of 2-[1-{(2R,3R,4R)-2-[(1R)-1-(3,5-bis(trifluoromethyl)phenyl)ethoxy]-3-(3,4-difluorophenyl)-tetrahydropyran-4-carbaldehyde (see Example 2 in WO 02/16344; 107 mg, 0.23 mmol) in methanol (3 ml). The mixture was stirred for 30 minutes then quenched with saturated aqueous NaHCO3 and extracted into ethyl acetate. The combined organic extracts were dried and concentrated to give the title compound (104 mg).
