Procedure
To 1.8 g of ethyl N-[2-(2,6-difluorobenzyl)-6-methoxyphenyl]-N-[(3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)sulfonyl]-glycinate dissolved in 50 ml of ethanol are added 10 ml of 2M sodium hydroxide solution. After 18 hours at room temperature, the medium is extracted with diethyl ether and the aqueous phase is acidified and extracted with dichloromethane. The organic phase is dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate and then concentrated to give 1.8 g of the expected product.
