Procedure
The title compound was prepared from 3-(4-chloro-phenyl)-4,5,7,8-tetrahydro-1H-1,2,6-triaza-azulene-6-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester (Example 103, Step B; 0.3 mmol) using 3-chloromethyl-pyridine hydrogen chloride (0.5 mmol) in place of 2-chloromethyl-thiophene. The title compound was obtained as a 2:1 mixture (25 mg) with 3-(4-chloro-phenyl)-2-pyridin-3-ylmethyl-2,4,5,6,7,8-hexahydro-1,2,6-triaza-azulene. Data for the mixture: MS (ESI): exact mass calculated for C19H19ClN4, 338.13; found, m/z 339.4 [M+H]+. 1H NMR (500 MHz, CDCl3): 8.47-8.14 (m, 2H), 7.42-7.03 (m, 6H), 5.39-5.07 (two s, 2H), 2.97-2.84 (m, 2H), 2.72-2.43 (m, 2H).
