Following the general procedure for Example 11 (step 1), N,N-dimethylglycine hydrochloride (0.51 g, 3.65 mmol), cesium carbonate (26 g, 79.8 mmol) and Cu(I) iodide (0.29 g, 1.52 mmol) were added to a solution of 4-chloroiodobenzene (6.4 g, 26.8 mmol) and 4-methoxyphenol (5.00 g, 40.3 mmol) in dioxane (10 mL) to afford the title compound (8.2 g, 100%) as a brown oil.
