A solution of 5-fluoro-1-(p-tolylsulfonyl)-3-(4,4,5,5-tetramethyl-1,3,2-dioxaborolan-2-yl)pyrrolo[2,3-b]pyridine, 44a, (0.23 g, 0.55 mmol), 2-((1S,3S)-3-(2-chloro-5-fluoropyrimidin-4-ylamino)-1-hydroxycyclohexyl)-ethanenitrile, 69a, (0.14 g, 0.50 mmol) and Na2CO3 (0.75 mL of 2M solution, 1.50 mmol) in dimethoxyethane (15 mL) was degassed with nitrogen for 30 min. To the reaction mixture was added palladium; triphenylphosphane (0.03 g, 0.03 mmol) and continued to degas the solution for 15 min. The reaction mixture was heated at 120° C. in a pressure tube for 45 min. The reaction mixture was filtered through celite and the filtrate was removed under reduced pressure. The resulting residue was purified by silica gel chromatography (40% EtOAc/Hexanes) to afford 150 mg of desired product: LCMS RT=3.55 (M+H) 539.42.
