A solution of 3-(2,6-difluoro-4-hydroxybenzyl)-7-(2-furyl)-3H-[1,2,3]triazolo[4,5-d]pyrimidine-5-amine hydrochloride (130 mg, 0.34 mmol) in DMF (5 mL) at 0° C., was treated with CsCO3 (223 mg, 0.68 mmol), stirred for 10 min, treated with methyl iodide (21 μL, 0.34 mmol) and stirred at room temperature for 30 min. The reaction mixture was diluted with water (10 mL) and filtered to give the title compound (122 mg, 100%) as a white solid.
