2-Methylthio-4-(4-chlorophenyl)-5-(2,4-dichlorophenyl)pyrimidine from Reference Example 3 was reacted with 3,4-dichlorobenzyl alcohol according to the procedure described in Example 59 to afford 2-(3,4-dichlorobenzyloxy)-4-(4-chlorophenyl)-5-(2,4-dichlorophenyl)pyrimidine (HRf): HPLC/MS: m/e=509 (M++1); Rt=5.14 min; 1H-NMR 400 MHz (CDCl3): δ 5.56 (s, 2H), 7.12 (d, J=9 Hz, 1H), 7.22-7.25 (m, 4H), 7.27-7.40 (m, 3H), 7.28 (m, 1H), 7.68 (d, J=2 Hz, 1H), 8.45 (s, 1H).
