2-Methylthio-5-(4-chlorophenyl)-4-(2,4-dichlorophenyl)pyrimidine from Reference Example 3 was reacted with 3,5-dichlorobenzyl alcohol according to the procedure described in Example 59 to afford 2-(3,5-dichlorobenzyloxy)-4-(2,4-dichlorophenyl)-5-(4-chlorophenyl)pyrimidine (HRf): HPLC/MS: m/e=510 (M++1); Rt=5.12 min; 1H-NMR 400 MHz (CDCl3): δ 5.45 (s, 2H), 7.03 (d, J=9 Hz, 2H), 7.21-7.40 (m, 6H), 7.42 (d, J=2 Hz, 2H), 8.60 (s, 1H).
