2-amino-4-fluorobenzoic acid (100 g, 0.64 mol) and formamide (154 mL, 3.87 mol) were mixed with a catalytic amount (1 mL) of N,N-dimethylformamide. The mixture was heated to 180° C. and further stirred for 14 hours. The mixture was cooled to room temperature, and distilled water (1000 mL) was added thereto. The mixture was stirred for 30 min and filtered to obtain the title compound (86 g, 81.3%).
