In a manner similar to the preparation of N2,N4-bis(3-hydroxyphenyl)-5-fluoro-2,4-pyrimidinediamine, 2,4-dichloro-5-trifluoromethylpyrimidine and 3-aminophenol were reacted to yield N2,N4-bis(3-hydroxyphenyl)-5-trifluoromethyl-2,4-pyrimidinediamine. 1H NMR (DMSO-d6): δ 9.82 (bs, 1H), 8.88 (bs, 1H), 8.36 (s, 1H), 7.18-7.11 (m, 2H), 6.96 (m, 4H), 6.63 (dd, 1H, J=2.4 and 8.1 Hz), 6.38 (d, 1H, J=8.1 Hz); 19F NMR (DMSO-d6): −16979; LCMS: ret. time: 19.04 min.; purity: 95%; MS (m/e): 363 (MH+).
