Commercially available dihydro-2H-pyran-3(4H)-one (Small Molecules Inc), (R)-(tetrahydrofuran-2-yl)methanamine (Aldrich), potassium thiocyanate (Aldrich) and iodine (Aldrich) were processed using the method described in Example 315A to afford the title compound. LCMS (ESI+) m/z 241 (M+H)+.
