tert-Butyl 3-oxo-3-(4-(5-phenyl-1H-pyrrolo[2,3-b]pyri din-4-yl)piperazin-1-yl)propylcarbamate (0.054 g, 0.12 mmol) was placed in DCM (3 mL) at room temperature. TFA (0.3 mL) was added, and the reaction was stirred at room temperature for 1 hour. The reaction was then concentrated to dryness. The resulting residue was dissolved in minimal DCM and added to a stirring solution of 1M HCl in ether. The resulting solid was collected by filtration, washed with ether, and dried to give 3-amino-1-(4-(5-phenyl-1H-pyrrolo[2,3-b]pyridin-4-yl)piperazin-1-yl)propan-1-one (0.050 g, 99% yield). MS ESI (+) m/z 350 detected.
