3 ml of thionyl chloride were slowly added to 336 mg of {4-[5-(2-fluoro-phenoxy)-oxazolo[5,4-d]pyrimidin-2-yl]-2,6-dimethyl-phenoxy}-acetic acid. The mixture was allowed to react for 2 days. Then toluene was added and the solvents were removed in vacuo. The addition and removal of toluene was repeated to give 350 mg of the title compound as a brown oil.
