To a solution of 4-[6-(4-hydroxy-phenyl)-3-((E)-styryl)-1-(tetrahydro-pyran-2-yl)-1H-pyrazolo[3,4-b]pyridine-4-carbonyl]-piperazine-1-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester (0.74 g, 1.22 mmol) in dry methanol (40 ml) was added Pd/C (150 mg). The reaction mixture was stirred under a hydrogen atmosphere for 1 hour, filtered and concentrated under reduced pressure. The crude residue was taken in dry methanol (30 ml) and Pd/C (150 mg) was added. The mixture was submitted to a hydrogen pressure of 1 bar and was stirred for 1 hour, filtered and concentrated under vacuum to yield the title compound (0.72 g, 96%).
