A mixture of 3-[4-(benzyloxy)phenyl]-1,3-dihydro-2H-imidazo[4,5-b]pyridin-2-one (500 mg) and Pd—C (100 mg) in MeOH (30 mL) was stirred at room temperature for 5.5 h. The mixture was filtered by Celite, and the filtrate was concentrated. The resulting solid was rinsed with 1Pr2O to give 3-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-1,3-dihydro-2H-imidazo[4,5-b]pyridin-2-one (370 mg) as a pale brown solid.
