Reaction Steps
To a stirred solution of 3,4-dicyano-1-naphthoic acid (121 mg, 0.542 mmol) in dry DCM (5 mL) was added oxalyl chloride (80.0 mg, 0.63 mmol) and DMF (10 μL). After 3 h at room temperature DCM was removed in vacuo to afford 3,4-dicyano-1-naphthoyl chloride.
