Reaction Steps
3-Chloroperoxybenzoic acid (50%, 9.0 g) was added to a suspension of the product of example 1, step e) (4.1 g) in ethanol (200 ml) and dichloromethane (50 ml) and the resulting solution stirred at room temperature for 18 hours. The reaction mixture was concentrated and the residue taken up in ethyl acetate (500 ml) , washed with 10% aqueous sodium metabisulfite solution (2×100 ml) and 10% aqueous sodium bicarbonate solution (2×100 ml) then dried and concentrated. Purification (SiO2, ethyl acetate as eluant) gave the subtitle compound (2.4 g).
