Reaction Steps
To a solution of N-benzyl-4-amino piperidine (0.50 g) in CH2Cl2 (10 mL) was added CBZ-leucine (695 mg), EDC (552.5 mg) and HOBT (356.6 mg). The reaction was stirred at room temperature until complete as indicated by TLC analysis. The reaction was dissolved in CHCl3 and washed with 10% Na2CO3, brine, dried (MgSO4), filtered, concentrated and chromatographed (3:1 EtOAc:hexanes) to give 0.99 g of the title compound: MS(ES+) 438 (MH+).
