Procedure

Methyl 7,7-dimethyl-6,7-dihydro-5H-benzocycloheptene-8-carboxylate was synthesized by the same process as in Reference Example 1, (b) and (c) except for using 7,7-dimethyl-6-methoxycarbonyl-6,7,8,9-tetrahydro-5H-benzocyclohepten-5-one.
