Ethyl 2-(l-(imidazolylcarbonyloxy)propyl)-5-(4,5-dimethoxy-2-nitrobenzoyl)-2H-1,2,3-triazole-4-carboxylate (377 mg) prepared in step (19a) was dissolved in toluene (12 ml). 3-Pentanol (1.6 ml) was added to the solution. The mixture was heated under reflux for 20 hr. The mixture was post-treated by a conventional method and subjected to separation and purification to give ethyl 5-(4,5-dimethoxy-2-nitrobenzoyl)-2-(1-(3-pentyloxycarbonyloxy) propyl)-2H-1,2,3-triazole-4-carboxylate (280 mg) as a light yellow oil.
