Procedure
Following the first procedure for the preparation of 8-(2-propenylmercapto)guanosine (Example 9), but substituting 2-butenyl chloride for allyl bromide, the title compound was obtained in 48 percent yield as a white powder, mp 210° C. (decomp.). NMR (DMSO-d6): δ 6.3 (bs, 2H); 5.6 (d, J=5 Hz, 1H); 1.6 (d, J=6 Hz, 3H). IR (KBr): 1690, 1630, 1600, 1510 and 1365 cm-1.
