Imidazole (3.87 g, 0.057 mol) was added to a stirred solution of 1-(4-bromo-2-butynyl)-1,3-dihydro-3-methyl-2H-imidazol-2-one (3.26 g, 0.014 mol) in dioxane (50 mL). After 18 hr the dioxane was evaporated and the residue was chromatographed on silica gel to give 2.4 g of product.
