Procedure
The title compound was prepared as described in Example 17 starting with 2-amino-4-(4-fluorophenyl)-5,6,7,8-tetrahydropyrido[4,3-d]pyrimidine dihydrochloride hemihydrate (1.0 g, 3.1 mmol) and allyl bromide (0.3 mL, 3.1 mmol) instead of iodoethane to produce 0.65 g (59%) of 6-allyl-2-amino-4-(4-fluorophenyl)-5,6,7,8-tetrahydropyrido[4,3-d]pyrimidine dihydrochloride. m.p. 241°-243° C. MS: 285 (MH+). IR(KBr): 3305, 3118, 2476, 1651 cm-1.
