Sebacic Acid → Bis(tetrabutylammonium)sebacate
Participants
| Role | Name | HCID | Charge |
|---|---|---|---|
| Reactant | Sebacic Acid | HCID 5192 | — |
| Reactant | Tetrabutylammonium Hydroxide | HCID 2723671 | — |
| Solvent | Methanol | HCID 887 | — |
| Product | Bis(tetrabutylammonium)sebacate | HCID 21903074 | — |
Reaction Steps
The procedure used was the same as described above by titration of sebacic acid (0.814 g, 4.02×10-3 mol) with 1 M tetrabutylammonium hydroxide solution in methanol. After removal of solvent, a quantitative yield (2.75 g) of salt was obtained. FIG. 45 shows a 1H NMR spectrum and FIG. 46 shows a 13C NMR spectrum of the salt in CDCl3.
