Procedure
10-bromo-2-hydroxy-5-methyl-4H-pyrido[3,2,1-jk]carbazole-4-one (200 mg) obtained in Example 49 was suspended in pyridine (6 ml), and acetic anhydride (0.18 ml) was added to the suspension. The mixture was stirred at room temperature for 40 minutes and a small amount of methanol was added dropwise to the reaction mixture. The solvent was evaporated under reduced pressure, and the residue was washed with ethanol and ether in succession to obtain the title compound (160 mg, 70%).
