Procedure

2-(5-acetoxymethyl-3-pyridylmethyloxy)-10-bromo-4H-pyrido[3,2,1-jk]carbazole-4-one (200 mg) obtained in Example 69 was suspended in methanol (12 ml), and a solution of sodium hydroxide (100 mg) in water (0.8 ml) was added to the suspension. The mixture was stirred at room temperature for 1 hour, and the precipitated crystals were washed with methanol and ether in succession, and recovered by filtration to obtain the title compound (170 mg, 93%).

Workup

  1. washthe precipitated crystals were washed with methanol and ether in succession
