Procedure
A solution of 3-[5-(dimethylaminomethyl)-3-thienyloxy]-1-propanol (0.25 g) and methanesulphonyl chloride (0.1 ml) in dry dichloromethane (10 ml) at 0°-5° was stirred for 1 h. The mixture was poured onto an ice cold 4% aqueous solution of sodium carbonate (50 ml). The solution was extracted with dichloromethane (20 ml). The organic extract was evaporated to give the title compound (0.05 g) as a white solid.
