Procedure

0.756 g (2 mmole) of 2-(2-methyl-3-phenylsulfonyl-prop-1-yl)-cyclododecanone and 0.672 g (6 mmole) of potassium tert-butoxide were progressively heated to 160° under 0.02 Torr and the formed title compound directly distilled from the reaction mixture. There were thus isolated 0.216 g (50% yield) of the desired compound.
