The (2-oxo-2,3,4,5-tetrahydro-1H-benzo[b]azepin-3-yl)-acetic acid is treated with EtCOCl and freshly prepared NH2OH by following a similar procedure described in example 1 to provide the title compound N-hydroxy-2-(2-oxo-2,3,4,5-tetrahydro-1H-benzo[b]azepin-3-yl)-acetamide which is purified by preparative LC/MS. 1H NMR (400 MHz, MeOD) δ 7.28 (m, 2H), 7.17(dt, 1H, J=1.2 Hz, J=8.0 Hz), 7.04 (dd, 1H, J=1.2 Hz, J 8.0 Hz), 2.90 (m, 2H), 2.72 (m, 1H), 2.55 (m, 1H), 2.28 (m, 1H), 2.15 (m, 1H), 1.97 (m, 1H). MS: (ES+): 235.3 [M+1].
