4-{[(4-Chloro-benzenesulfonyl)-(2-oxo-5-trifluoromethyl-azepan-3-yl)-amino]-methyl}-3-fluoro-benzoic acid methyl ester (0.03 g, 0.06 mmol) was dissolved in THF (2 ml) and 1 N NaOH (4 ml) was added. The reaction mixture was stirred for 6 h at pH 10. A KHSO4/K2SO4 aqueous buffer was added to adjust the pH to 3. The mixture was extracted with ethyl acetate and the combined organic extracts were dried (Na2SO4) and concentrated under reduced pressure and lyophilised yielding a solid: 11 mg; MS: m/e=521.2 (MH−).
