To a solution of methyl 4-((1R,3aS,5aR,5bR,7aR,11aS,11bR,13aR,13bR)-3a-(3-(dimethylamino)propanamido)-5a,5b,8,8,11a-pentamethyl-1-(prop-1-en-2-yl)-2,3,3a,4,5,5a,5b,6,7,7a,8,11,11a,11b,12,13,13a,13b-octadecahydro-1H-cyclopenta[a]chrysen-9-yl)benzoate, TFA (87.9 mg, 0.116 mmol) in THF (5 mL) was added a solution of lithium hydroxide monohydrate (19.49 mg, 0.464 mmol) in water (1.00 mL). The reaction was stirred at 75° C. After 8 h, the reaction was concentrated to dryness. The crude material was dissolved in THF (1 mL) and MeOH (1.5 mL), filtered and purified by reverse phase preparative HPLC using HPLC method 1 to give the title compound (59.5 mg, 0.078 mmol, 67.6% yield) as a white solid.
