Reaction Steps
To a stirred solution of piperidin-4-yl-carbamic acid tert-butyl ester (1 g, 5 mmol) and triethylamine (1.05 ml, 7.5 mmol) in THF (30 mL) at 0° C. was slowly added 4-chloro-benzoyl chloride (0.77 ml, 6 mmol). The reaction mixture was stirred from 0° C. to room temperature for 2 hours. The reaction mixture was diluted with CH2Cl2 and washed with water (3 times) and brine. The organic layer was dried (sodium sulfate), filtered, and concentrated under reduced pressure to provide the titled compound. MS (DCI) m/z 339 (M+H)+.
