PROCEDURE

A mixture of 6-11 (1.23 g, 2.51 mmol) and 10% Pd/C (0.200 g) in EtOH (25 mL) was stirred under a balloon of hydrogen for 2 days. Filtration through celite and evaporative removal of the solvent followed by purification on silica gel (70:25:5 CHCl3:EtOAc:MeOH) afforded 0.900 g of 6-12.
