Hydrazine (1.5 ml) was added to a mixture of intermediate (13) (0.00353 mol) in THF (20 ml). The mixture was stirred at room temperature for 15 min. K2CO3 10% was added and the mixture was extracted with DCM. The organic layer was separated, dried (MgSO4), filtered and the solvent was evaporated till dryness, yielding 1.5 g (100%) of (4-chlorophenyl)[5-(3-chlorophenyl)-2-hydrazino-3H-1,4-benzodiazepin-7-yl]-methanone (intermediate 14).
