Combine 50.0 gm of the product of Example 1, 2.0 gm PtO2, 133 ml of conc. HCl at 45 lbs./sq.in. in a shaker flask until hydrogen is no longer taken up. Filter the resulting mixture, evaporate the solvent and triturate the product with 1 liter of EtOH. Filter and dry the product to obtain 51.6 gm of the title compound, Rf is 0.17 (silica gel plates eluted with 40% conc. NH3 /CH3OH).
