Procedure
In a similar manner to Example 56 but using ethyl nipecotate, was prepared ethyl 4-[(4-pyridyl)piperazin-1-yl]benzoylnipecotate in 35% yield as a solid; NMR (d6DMSO) δ1.15 (3H,t), 1.35-1.75 (3H,m), 1.9-2.05 (1H,m), 2.3-2.5(1H,m), 3.0-3.3 (4H,m), 3.3-3.4 (4H,m), 3.4-3.5 (4H,m), 4.05 (2H,q), 6.85 (2H,d), 6.95 (2H,d), 7.25 (2H,d), 8.15 (2H,d); m/e 423 (M+H)+ ; calculated for C24H30N4O3.0.5H2O: C, 66.8; H, 7.2; N, 13.0. Found C, 66.4; H, 7.3; N, 13.1%.
