Reaction Steps
2,28 g of trans-traumatic acid (10 mmol) are suspended in 100 ml of a mixture water/ethanol 2: 1 at 4° C., 5,05 g of chlorhexidine base (10 mmol) are added and the mixture is kept under stirring at 4° C. for hours and then at 25° C. overnight. 200 ml of water are added and the mixture is concentrated under vacuum at the volume of about 100 ml and Finally again cooled to 4° C. The resulting precipitate is recovered by filtration, washed three times using 10 ml of cool water and finally dried under high vacuum.
