Following the procedure of the preceding Examples, 64.5 grams (0.25 mole) of (n-C8H17)2S, 18.5 grams (0.0416 mole) of P4S10 and 90 grams (0.53 mole) of PSCl3 were reacted at 190° C for 10 hours. The crude reaction mixture was distilled twice to provide 68 grams (49% yield) of n-C8H17SP(S)Cl2 having the following properties:
